So the Ranch responded to my wall post. What a disgusting establishment. 

So this is in Edmonton, a city in Canada with the second largest population of urban natives in the country, with several reserves within a short driving distance.

Anti-Native bigotry is so normalized, and despite our numbers and visibility, there is virtually no acknowledgement of the prevalence and influence of Native people in this community.  We are effectively ignored, and removed from the discourse. 

This is a city where cops routinely round people up to dump them off at the city limits, or in industrial parks.  This is a city where cops can tase and beat the shit out of Native people without consequence.  

Fuck Edmonton.

I need to find out the name of the group hosting this.

Yeah, any idea who the group is?  I know a lot of people at the U of A who would make a serious stink, and one clearly needs to be made.

This is my university. I’ll check into this tonight.

I wonder what a site like OkCupid would be like if it wasn’t hyper anonymous, & people just flat out said who they really are? For people to stop hiding behind dishonest representations of themselves, embellished with lucky camera angles & walls of word-fluff. 

So what about stalkers?  Well, I don’t think I’d list anything on a profile that you couldn’t already find out about me already. I have years of archived blogged posts if you really wanted to dig around, which I have little worry about.  The only new information would be stating if one was on, or off the market.

I’ve pretty openly been on a bunch of OkCupid dates in many cities over the years. They’ve been a great way to meet people outside my normal circle. I want to meet even more people.

Maybe I’ll make a public version of my profile, and link to it in a bunch of places — to test out what it’s like. BRB.
